Hip replacement
Minimally Invasive Technique
When we talk about hip replacement we mean the complete replacement of the femoral head which consists of three components: the acetabular cup, the femoral head and the femoral stem.
It can be performed with various access routes.
The only minimally invasive access route is the direct anterior approach which spares muscles and tendons, is the least aggressive and allows for a significantly faster post-operative recovery.
Dr. Giacomi was among the first in Italy to perform this technique and to date has performed over 3,500 anterior access hip replacement surgeries.
Direct Anterior Approach
Direct anterior approach hip replacement surgery represents one of the most advanced and least invasive techniques for hip joint replacement.
Fast Track Protocol
Dr. Giacomi, in line with the most recent scientific evidence, applies a rigorous
Fast track protocol to accelerate recovery of patients undergoing anterior approach hip replacement.
Robotic surgery
The continuous evolution of technology has brought the use of robotic surgery into the operating room, which represents a great aid for preoperative planning of the intervention.
